Dugo najavljivani singl Lady Gage Born This Way je danas pušten u etar. Pevačica je bila toliko uzbuđena oko pesme, da je obavestila svoje fanove preko Twittera da će promociju singla pomeriti za dva dana ranije, tj. 11. februar 2011. Njen treći studijski album nosi naziv po ovom singlu Born this way, a promocija je planirana za 23. maj 2011. Početkom februara Gaga je na svom Twitteru objavila reči pesme i već tada je bilo očigledno da će ovo biti nova gay himna. Takođe, Gaga se slikala i za naslovnicu martovskog izdanja američkog magazina Vogue. Iako su mnogi mislili da je uspeh ove devojke kratkog daha, ona ipak nastavlja da osvaja svet.
MTV je prokomentarisao da je pesma zabavna, šalje snažnu poruku, prevazilazi granice neočekivanog i odiše pravim POP zvukom ranih 90-ih.
